Children's Dance Theatre

Children’s Dance Theatre is delighted to be celebrating its 23rd year as a dance production company. CDT was founded in 1987 with the express purpose of creating quality theatrical dance performances, and throughout the past 23 years has proudly fulfilled that mission. Although many may believe that CDT operates as a dance studio, we are an independent incorporated non-profit dance theatre. Our dancers come from a wide variety of dance training and experiences, and are chosen for each production through auditions open to dancers ages 5 years old through 12th grade, currently enrolled in a weekly dance class(es).

As a company, we love to explore the art of dance and to share this wonderful experience with others in a positive and uplifting manner. CDT strives to provide our dancers with an enriching learning environment by offering them the opportunity to work with various choreographers, as well as the chance to experience the creative process that goes into staging a production. We are proud to provide this opportunity for dancers outside of their regular dance studios and companies. Throughout the past 23 years CDT has produced a wide variety of productions including our most recent productions of The Chocolate Factory, Hansel and Gretel, Polar Express, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and Annie. This past year, the dancers of CDT shared their talents with members of the community by performing at the Bella Voce Young Women's Christmas Concerts.

CDT is a non-profit organization and is registered as such with the State of Minnesota. A Board of Directors, elected by members of the organization, governs CDT. This board is comprised of parents and representatives from the arts, professional, educational and business communities. Members of the Board of Directors assist with annual fundraisers and various organizational and creative duties.
